First Aid/CPR for Adults
In this class you will learn basic First Aid and how to perform CPR on adults. Those who complete this class are certified in First Aid & CPR by the National Safety Council.

Transporting Elderly & Disabled Passengers
You will learn proper methods of boarding and securing elderly and disabled passengers, first in the classroom using descriptive photographs, and then outside on a lift-equipped van using a standard wheelchair, three-wheeled scooter, and motorized four-wheel chair. Techniques for assisting ambulatory passengers board a bus will also be addressed.

Defensive Driving
This class begins in the classroom discussing the following safe driving habits:
- Scanning
- Visual Lead Time
- Space Cushion
- Four Second Rule
- IPDE
- Smooth Acceleration and Deceleration
- Safe Lane Changes
- Entering and Exiting Intersections Safely
- Safe Backing.
We will conduct the rest of the class outside, demonstrating proper mirror use and how to conduct a driving skill test.

Workplace Safety
Ergonomics - This quick overview of basic ergonomics will help you learn how to properly adjust your existing ergonomic equipment and how to troubleshoot problem areas in your workplace.
Slips, Trips and Falls- Slips, trips and falls are some of the leading causes of injury in the U.S. We will highlight the preventive measures you can take to avoid being a statistic.
Back Safety - We will look at the anatomy of the spine and what happens during back injuries. Then we will address what you can do to take care of your back.

ADA & Transportation Regulations
This class covers many regulatory topics including: ADA (American Disability Act) compliance, defining complementary paratransit service requirements, passenger eligibility, and proper passenger handling requirements.

Risk Management Roundtable
This session is a lively round-table discussion of ways to manage transportation risk and reduce your exposure to accidents. Topics include: hiring procedures, accident investigation, loss analysis, training responsibilities, conducting safety meetings, and establishing company policies that help reduce risk. Bring your ideas and questions.

Hiring Safe Drivers
Proper driver selection is the most crucial part of managing transportation risk. In this class you will learn how to select safe drivers from the beginning of the selection process to reference checking.
We will cover how to:
• develop an accurate job profile
• use skillful interview and testing techniques that gets the information you need
• get useful information from former employers in spite of the obstacles
