NonProfits United Vehicle Insurance Pool (NPU-VIP), the first ever of its kind, is a self-insurance pool for California nonprofits. We provide stable vehicle insurance rates and risk management services tailored to the special needs of nonprofits. Our member-owners are active in managing their own risk to keep losses (and premiums) at a minimum.
The VIP was created in response to the vehicle insurance crisis of the 1980s, which devastated nonprofit transportation providers throughout the state. Managers of nonprofit organizations joined forces to build a member-owned and operated pool to offer an alternative to the traditional insurance industry.
Since its inception in 1988, the VIP has weathered the ups and downs of the volatile insurance market and is now stronger than ever.
Our goal is to help nonprofits preserve resources by reducing premiums and loss-related expenses so they can spend more of their agency’s money directly on their mission. |

Expert Claims Service
Our member claims are adjusted by John Glenn Adjusters and Administrators (JGAA), a Third Party Adjuster based in San Ramon, CA with offices throughout the state.
JGAA has been adjusting claims for NPU since 1988 when the pool was started and is considered a pre-eminent transportation claims adjuster.
JGAA focuses on personalized and prompt contact and follow-up with each member and claimant to settle claims quickly, amicably and with the least disruption to member services.

We offer a full-range menu of services to enable members to improve their safety and efficiency.
We work with each member to assess their individual needs and craft a plan to address those needs.
